About patient rights

The relationship between patients and caregivers is one of mutual respect, understanding and cooperation. It is the foundation for delivering quality care and individual progress.

As a patient you are entitled to certain rights established by state and federal regulations and hospital policies, to help ensure your care and safety. This includes, for example, the right to make informed decisions about your care and treatment options, receive or refuse care without discrimination and freely express any concerns. It also involves your right to privacy, confidentiality and individual courtesies that help support your recovery experience.
