Chief Operating Officer

Kassandra Leonard MSN, BSN, RN, CNML

Kassandra Leonard is the chief operating officer for Select Specialty Hospital - Hampton Roads. In this role since 2025, she functions as the leader responsible for this critical illness recovery hospital and believes in the incredible care her team provides.

Before taking the role of chief operating officer, Kassandra worked as the chief nursing officer for Select Specialty Hospital - Hampton Roads. Prior to joining Select Specialty Hospital, Kassandra worked at a short-term acute care hospital as a nurse manager in a stepdown unit and in a telemetry monitoring unit for seven years. There she managed operations and quality of care of a 24-bed unit with more than 80 staff members, ensuring compliance, efficiency and patient satisfaction. She also served as a registered nurse coordinator and floor nurse on the same unit where she began her 11-year career in health care.

Kassandra attained her Masters in Nursing Leadership from Grand Canyon University, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Sentara College and her Associates in Nursing from ECPI. She also has a Bachelor of Science from Christopher Newport University and her Nurse Manager in Leadership certification.
