Misti Varnell, Chief Executive Officer

Misti Varnell looking at the camera. Misti Varnell, R.N., MSN, is the chief executive officer of Select Specialty Hospital – Dallas. In this role since 2021, she oversees hospital operations, quality and employee engagement initiatives.

Previously, Misti worked for Earnest Health, Mesquite Specialty Hospital & Mesquite Rehabilitation Institute Hospital, where she served as CEO. In this position, she oversaw more than 250 employees and three hospitals.

Earlier, Misti was CEO of Kindred Healthcare, Texas. She also worked as regional senior director of clinical operations, assistant administrator, chief nurse executive, director of quality management and infection control practitioner for general and specialized medical centers across Texas and Missouri.

She has an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from the Tarrant County College - Fort Worth and a masters in nursing leadership and management from Walden University - Minneapolis.
