Carl Nichols, Chief Executive Officer

Carl Nichols, MBA, FACHE, CMPE, is the CEO of Select Specialty Hospital – Boardman and serves as the Youngstown market administrator. In these roles, he manages day-to-day operations at Select Specialty Hospital – Boardman while overseeing business and professional development for the Youngstown market.

Previously, Carl served as executive vice president and chief operations officer for West Virginia’s Davis Health Systems, developing a collaborative emergency department, hospitalist and pharmacy model. Over his 13-year tenure there, Carl worked as vice president of professional services and director of its Central West Virginia MedCorp.

Before that, he was with Medbrook Medical Associates for 12 years as chief operations officer/administrator, corporate compliance officer and earlier, as laboratory manager.

Carl received a bachelor’s degree in health administration from Fairmont State College and Master of Business Administration from West Virginia University. Additionally, he is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and certified medical practice executive.
