Dr. Brent Bergen, Medical Director

Brent Bergen, MD, is the medical director of Select Specialty Hospital - Springfield and Select Medical Rehabilitation - Springfield. In this role since 2024, he helps to formulate policies, procedures and clinical protocols for patient treatments, assists with the quality assurance programs and provides general oversight of the medical staff.

Prior to joining Select, Dr. Bergen practiced pulmonary/critical care and sleep medicine at Cox South Hospital. He also served as the chief of medicine at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Dr. Bergen attended Rice University in Houston, Texas for his undergraduate degree and attained his medical degree at the University of Oklahoma. He completed his residency and fellowship training at Texas A&M University and St. Louis University.
