Scott Thompson, Chief Executive Officer

Scott Thompson is the chief executive officer of Select Specialty Hospital – Central Kentucky. In this role since 2021, he oversees hospital operations, patient experience and referral relationships.

Previously, Scott worked at Hospice Care Plus, where he spent two years as CEO. There, he oversaw a hospice home program and inpatient hospice center serving six counties. He led the organization through the pandemic while improving operational and staffing efficiency.

Prior to that, Scott spent a year as CEO of Russell County Hospital, with operational responsibility for the facility and two rural health clinics. While there, he developed a new outpatient infusion service line, expanded cardiology offerings and opened a hepatitis C clinic.

Earlier, Scott spent 11 years as director of operations for St. Joseph Berea Hospital. He successfully developed its heart and vascular service line and concurrently managed the respiratory and rehab services departments.

Scott earned a master’s in health care administration from Independence University, bachelor’s from Central Western University and associate degree in respiratory care from California College.
