Medical Director

Adam Wells, MD, FCCP

Adam Wells, MD, FCCP, is the medical director for Select Specialty Hospital - Omaha. In this role, Dr. Wells oversees the standards of care provided at the hospital. He is responsible for formulating and implementing clinical policies and protocols, co-leads the quality assurance programs and serves as a primary liaison among the hospital’s Medical Staff members.

Before taking the role of medical director of Select Specialty Hospital, Dr. Wells served as the medical director of the Nebraska Methodist Hospital ICU and the section chief for pulmonary and critical care medicine at Nebraska Methodist Hospital. In addition to these roles, he has served professionally on numerous quality, executive, policy, medical education and staff development committees in addition to multiple volunteer positions in the community.

Dr. Wells received his bachelor's degree from Chadron State College. He completed medical school, internal medicine residency, a chief resident year, and pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.
