Chief Nursing Officer

Althea Brown

Althea Brown is the chief nursing officer at Select Specialty Hospital – Northwest Detroit. In this role, she focuses on creating a positive experience for patients, families and staff. Althea fosters an environment built on trust, safety and quality care.

With more than 30 years of nursing leadership experience, Althea previously served as director of patient care services overseeing critical care, stepdown and telemetry units in an acute care hospital. She earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in health care management from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Howard University. She became board certified as a nurse executive in 2019.

Althea is a member of the Wayne County Community College advisory board and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
