Dr. Mathew Mathai, Medical Director

Dr. Mathew Mathai is the medical director for Select Specialty Hospitals Milwaukee St. Francis and West Allis. In this role, Dr. Mathai assists hospitals in formulating and implementing policies, procedures and clinical protocols for patient treatment. He also assists in community outreach and education regarding hospital services.

Board-certified in internal, sleep and pulmonary medicine, Dr. Mathai maintains a hospital and clinic practice and leads Pulmonary and Critical Care Associates.

He completed undergraduate studies at Marquette University and received a medical degree from American University of the Caribbean. Dr. Mathai earned a sleep medicine and pulmonary and critical care fellowship at East Tennessee State University James H. Quillen College of Medicine and completed an internal medicine residency.

He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, American Society of Internal Medicine, American Thoracic Society and Society of Critical Care Medicine.
