Dr. Donald R. Quinn, Medical Director

Donald Quinn Dr. Donald R. Quinn, MBA, SFHM, is the medical director of Select Specialty Hospital – TriCities. In this role, he helps to formulate policies, procedures and clinical protocols for patient treatment, assists with the quality assurance program and has general oversight of the medical staff.

Dr. Quinn has more than 30 years’ experience in hospital and long-term care medicine as well as office and hospice practice.

He is a pioneer in the development of hospital and long-term care medicine, garnering several national achievement awards. Dr. Quinn was in the first class of the Society for Hospital Medicine’s senior fellow in hospital medicine candidates.

Additionally, he founded a number of medical entities, including hospitalist, long-term acute care medicine and nursing home groups, infusion and pre-surgical evaluation clinics and a hospice medical directorship.

Dr. Quinn earned a Master of Business Administration and bachelor’s degree in information technology from King University. He completed a medical degree at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and internal medicine residency at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. Additionally, he is certified in wound care and has directed a moderately complex Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) lab.
