Kim Pyles, Market Chief Executive Officer
Kent Hess is the Columbus Market chief executive officer and onsite leader of Select Specialty Hospital – Victorian Village. In this role since 2021, he oversees operations and business development for the three Columbus critical illness recovery hospitals and staffing and patient experience at Victorian Village.
He joined Select from The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s University Hospital after serving three years as its associate executive director. In that role, he oversaw operations of a 1,000-plus bed facility, expanded several service lines and co-chaired the health care network’s COVID-19 response team.
Previously, Kent was the interim executive director at Ohio State Harding Hospital and Ohio State East Hospital. He spent eight years at Clearfield Hospital in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, serving in positions of growing responsibility, as its president and CEO, vice president and earlier, chief operating officer.
He began his career as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserves Medical Services Corps, working as assistant chief of logistics and company commander in Columbus and Fort Knox, Kentucky, respectively.
Kent earned a Bachelor of Science in information and decision systems from Carnegie Mellon University and Master of Health Administration from Ohio University.
