Elijah Murrell, Chief Executive Officer

Elijah Murrell is the CEO of Select Specialty Hospital — St. Louis. In this role since 2022, he oversees hospital operations while ensuring exceptional patient and employee experiences.

Previously, Elijah held responsible positions at Ascension/Mercy Health including regional senior director of nursing operations, director of performance optimization, ambulatory projects director, national service line director and commercialization project manager.

A veteran of the United States Army, he served as commander and chief administrative officer of medical operations on Fort Campbell, Kentucky and as department chief for combat medical support, earning a Bronze Star during operations in Afghanistan.

Elijah joined the U.S. Army Reserves and held posts including commander and chief administrative officer of the 7458th Medical Operational Readiness Unit in Fort Bragg, North Carolina and medical operations and strategic planner for Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.

He earned a bachelor in exercise science and Master of Business Administration from Lindenwood University.
