Donna Gares, Chief Executive Officer

Donna Gares, DHA, FACHE, R.N. is the chief executive officer of Select Specialty Hospital - Wilmington. In this role since 2015, she oversees the hospital’s strategic, operational and financial aspects.

Previously, Donna served in increasingly responsible roles at Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital, ending with CEO. She also worked at Community Health Systems and the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center.

She earned a doctorate in health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina, Master of Business Administration from Eastern University, Master of Science in burn, emergency and trauma nursing from Widener University and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Villanova University. Donna is board-certified and a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
