Raymond Ramos, Interim CEO

Karen Cawley is regional chief executive officer for Select Specialty Hospital – Phoenix. In this role since 2017, Karen oversees operations for Phoenix’s 48 beds and will assist divisional leadership with development projects in the Southwest.

During her tenure, Phoenix has been recognized numerous times for clinical and operational excellence, serving as a training site for Select Medical’s chief operating officer training program and new CEO onboarding location.

Previously, Karen spent three years as market CEO for Kindred Healthcare’s two Phoenix long-term acute care hospitals. Karen has also held senior leadership positions with Parkland Health & Hospital System (Dallas) and Maricopa Medical Center (Phoenix).

Karen earned a Master of Healthcare Administration from Trinity University and bachelor’s degree in biology from University of Scranton.
