Select Specialty Hospital - Savannah combines the specialized expertise of a large hospital with the personalized attention of a smaller setting.

Occasionally, patients in the hospital have a need for a longer acute care stay due to their illness, multiple injuries, trauma, or medical complications. The unique medical needs of these types of patients require more intensive, focused hospital care for optimal recovery. Select Specialty Hospitals are designed specifically to meet the needs of these types of extended acute care patients.

Select Specialty Hospital - Savannah provides a comprehensive ventilator and tracheotomy weaning program. Select Specialty Hospital - Savannah also has a medically complex treatment program with ability for in-room dialysis, drips, and chest tubes and a complex wound program including wound vacs, bedside and surgical debridements, and surgical flaps with supervision by our board certified wound care nurse. Select Specialty Hospital - Savannah also prides itself on its infectious disease program for the management of complex infections including multi-drug resistant strains. All programs are supervised by Physician specialists and our family nurse practitioner.

Each patient is also assigned a case manager who will guide their case from admission through discharge. The case manager is available to answer questions, assist with insurance and to plan a safe, timely and appropriate discharge. Select Specialty Hospitals are Medicare certified and accredited by the Joint Commission. We participate with most major health insurers.

We are located on the 4 South floor(s) of Candler Hospital, which allows us seamless transition of patients.

Our Admissions Coordinator will process your referrals to Select Specialty Hospital - Savannah quickly and efficiently. An on-site evaluation of the patient will be completed by a Clinical Liaison within hours of the referral. The Clinical Liaison is your personal contact to Select Specialty Hospital. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the services we provide. Once an admission decision has been determined, the patient can often transfer the same day.

He completed his Residency at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital of the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in Cooperstown New York
