Our Admissions Coordinator will process your referrals to Select Specialty Hospital - San Antonio quickly and efficiently. An on-site evaluation of the patient will be completed by a Clinical Liaison within hours of the referral. The Clinical Liaison is your personal contact to Select Specialty Hospital. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the services we provide. Once an admission decision has been determined, the patient can often transfer the same day.

Medical Director

Dr. Raul Gaona Jr. completed his post-graduate training in Internal Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center in 1996, and graduated from medical school from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadaljara, Mexico.

He has served as Medical Director for Select Specialty Hospital - San Antonio since 2000 and has several terms as Chief of Medicine for the downtown Baptist Hospital and Southwest General Hospital.
