Select Specialty Hospital - Saginaw is proud of our clinical outcomes including successfully weaning a large percentage of our patients from their ventilators. Our success is due to a team of dedicated board-certified pulmonologists that utilize ventilator weaning protocols for their patients, resulting in optimal outcomes.

The In-Patient Pulmonary and Cardiac Rehab programs combine excellent medical treatment, pulmonary & cardiac education, rehab services and nutritional support to treat our patients holistically. Our team approach has demonstrated decreased repeat hospitalizations and emergency room visits for exacerbtion of COPD and most importantly a reported improved quality of life.

Each patient is also assigned a case manager who will guide their case from admission through discharge. The case manager is available to answer questions, assist with insurance and to plan a safe, timely and appropriate discharge. Select Specialty Hospitals are Medicare certified and accredited by the Joint Commission. We participate with most major health insurers.

We are located on the 8th floor(s) of Covenant Health Care, which allows us seamless transition of patients.

Our Admissions Coordinator will process your referrals to Select Specialty Hospital - Saginaw quickly and efficiently. An on-site evaluation of the patient will be completed by a Clinical Liaison within hours of the referral. The Clinical Liaison is your personal contact to Select Specialty Hospital. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the services we provide. Once an admission decision has been determined, the patient can often transfer the same day.

Medical Director

Dr. Farhan Ansari, M.D. has served as Select Specialty Hospital - Saginaw's Pulmonary Director since 2005 and assumed the Medical Director role in January of 2007.

Dr. Ansari completed his fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at the University of South Florida affiliated hospitals and received his critical care training at Wayne State University and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care.
