The unique medical needs of these types of patients require more intensive, focused hospital care for optimal recovery. The physicians on our medical staff, along with our nurses and therapists, work closely together to improve the physical, emotional and functional wellness of our patients. Select Specialty Hospital - Orlando offers a variety of programs and services to match the patient’s acuity and individual needs. Our programs are designed to move patients from an acute care setting toward achieving their highest level of wellness possible with out compromising quality of care.
Select Specialty Hospital - Orlando treats critically ill, medically complex patients who are suffering from a catastrophic illness by providing specialized care for a variety of conditions including, but not limited to:
Pulmonary/vent: Specialized care for patients with acute or chronic respiratory disorders who may have tracheostomies, ventilators or require extensive respiratory treatments to maintain normal breathing without mechanical support. We can treat, COPD, pneumonia, ALS, Guillain-Barre.
Medically Complex: Designed for patients who require diverse medical services. Programs are specifically designed to meet the needs of patients with catastrophic illnesses that require focused nursing care and therapy. We can treat or provide these services, congestive, heart failure, cardiovascular diseases, prolonged surgical recovery, cancer, sepsis, multi-system complications, long-term IV antibiotics, malnutrition, degenerative disease.
Neuro/Post Trauma: Designed for patients who require intensive therapy in addition to intensive nursing and respiratory care. We can treat or provide these services, CVA (stroke), spinal cord injury, cerebral hemorrhage, orthopedic complications, aneurysm, head injury, anoxic brain injury, joint replacement.
Wound Care: Designed for patients with impaired tissue integrity or who are at high risk for complications. We can treat the following, decubitus ulcer, cellulitis, burns, osteomyelitis, debridement, enterostomal nursing services, photo documentation, wound vac, pulse lavage, specialty beds.
Select Specialty Hospital Orlando measures success based upon the level of satisfaction expressed by our: patients, their families and our referring customers. We strive to provide satisfaction of care to the patient's family, physician and case manager.
Each patient is also assigned a case manager who will guide their case from admission through discharge. The case manager is available to answer questions, assist with insurance and to plan a safe, timely and appropriate discharge. Select Specialty Hospitals are Medicare certified and accredited by the Joint Commission. We participate with most major health insurers.

Our Admissions Coordinator will process your referrals to Select Specialty Hospital - Orlando, Inc. (North Campus) quickly and efficiently. An on-site evaluation of the patient will be completed by a Clinical Liaison within hours of the referral. The Clinical Liaison is your personal contact to Select Specialty Hospital. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the services we provide. Once an admission decision has been determined, the patient can often transfer the same day.
