The unique medical needs of these types of patients require more intensive, focused hospital care for optimal recovery. Each patient is also assigned a case manager who will guide their case from admission through discharge. The case manager is available to answer questions, assist with insurance and to plan a safe, timely and appropriate discharge. Select Specialty Hospitals are Medicare certified and accredited by the Joint Commission. We participate with most major health insurers.

Our Admissions Coordinator will process your referrals to Select Specialty Hospital - Omaha, Inc. (Central Campus) quickly and efficiently. An on-site evaluation of the patient will be completed by a Clinical Liaison within hours of the referral. The Clinical Liaison is your personal contact to Select Specialty Hospital. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the services we provide. Once an admission decision has been determined, the patient can often transfer the same day.

Dr. Guillermo Huerta is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, American College of Physicians, and Society of Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Huerta is the Medical Director of respiratory services and the Vice Chief-of-Staff at Immanuel Medical Center.
Additionally, he serves on the Bergan Mercy Critical Care Committee, Infection Control Committee and the Allegent Health System Formulary Committee.
