Select Specialty Hospital - Jackson combines the specialized expertise of a large hospital with the personalized attention of a smaller setting.

Occasionally, patients in the hospital have a need for a longer acute care stay due to their illness, multiple injuries, trauma, or medical complications. The unique medical needs of these types of patients require more intensive, focused hospital care for optimal recovery. Select Specialty Hospitals are designed specifically to meet the needs of these types of extended acute care patients.

Select Specialty Hospital - Jackson's physicians round patients daily. A physician is on-site daily, every night, 365 days a year. Some of our specialized services include an on-site CT scanner, a 7 bed high-observation unit, and a GI/Procedure suite.

Each patient is also assigned a case manager who will guide their case from admission through discharge. The case manager is available to answer questions, assist with insurance and to plan a safe, timely and appropriate discharge. Select Specialty Hospitals are Medicare certified and accredited by the Joint Commission. We participate with most major health insurers.

Our Admissions Coordinator will process your referrals to Select Specialty Hospital - Jackson quickly and efficiently. An on-site evaluation of the patient will be completed by a Clinical Liaison within hours of the referral. The Clinical Liaison is your personal contact to Select Specialty Hospital. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the services we provide. Once an admission decision has been determined, the patient can often transfer the same day.

Medical Director

Our Medical Director is Dr. Greg Oden. Dr. Oden has been with Select Specialty Hospital of Jackson since our opening in 2002.

He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. Dr. Oden completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis, TN.
