Select Specialty Hospital - Evansville combines the specialized expertise of a large hospital with the personalized attention of a smaller setting.

Occasionally, patients in the hospital have a need for a longer acute care stay due to their illness, multiple injuries, trauma, or medical complications. The unique medical needs of these types of patients require more intensive, focused hospital care for optimal recovery. Select Specialty Hospitals are designed specifically to meet the needs of these types of extended acute care patients.

Select Specialty Hospital - Evansville relocated to a new freestanding location in March of 2007. Our new hospital features 60 private rooms(including bariatric, ADA and negative air flow rooms)all with flat screen television, cable and telephone. We also feature a 6 bed ICU that offers bedside dialysis(CRRT coming soon)invasive monitoring, all critical drips, ETT tubes and 24 hour monitoring of all vital signs.

In our procedure room, our physicians can perform debridements, line placement, bronchoscopy, tracheotomy placement, PEG placement, EGD and colonoscopy.

Our radiology department services include CT, X-ray, swallow studies and fluoroscopy.

Comprehensive therapy is offered 5 days a week at the bedside or in one of our two therapy gyms.

Our respiratory therapists are in-house 24 hours a day. They specialize in ventilator management and use aggressive weaning protocols.

Our full service in-house pharmacy monitors for drug interactions and participates in each patients care conference.

A full time registered dietician is also on staff to provide ongoing nutritional status monitoring and is available for patient and family education.

Patients receive daily physician visits. Specialty physicians are available for consultation, and a night physician is in-house from 7 PM -7 am for emergencies and work together with our rapid response team and code team.

The cafeteria is open to the public Monday-Friday. We have a chef on staff to prepare our home cooked meals. Breakfast is served from 6:30 AM - 9:30 AM and lunch is served from 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM.(closed on holidays and weekends).

Visitors are encouraged to visit from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM. Exceptions can be made depending on the patients condition and circumstances.

Each patient is also assigned a case manager who will guide their case from admission through discharge. The case manager is available to answer questions, assist with insurance and to plan a safe, timely and appropriate discharge. Select Specialty Hospitals are Medicare certified and accredited by the Joint Commission. We participate with most major health insurers.

Our Admissions Coordinator will process your referrals to Select Specialty Hospital - Evansville quickly and efficiently. An on-site evaluation of the patient will be completed by a Clinical Liaison within hours of the referral. The Clinical Liaison is your personal contact to Select Specialty Hospital. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the services we provide. Once an admission decision has been determined, the patient can often transfer the same day.
